How I ‘Penne’d a Poetic Pasta evening for my Family!

How I ‘Penne’d a Poetic Pasta evening for my Family!

Cookery is not mere chemistry
between various ingredients,
it is but an art
which combines the soul
of vivid flavors,
so a mesmerizing aroma is born
which can connect hearts.

What could be more pleasing to create a jovial family bonding
than to cook a dish from a country
known for its romance and sheer love?
To prepare a sonnet of savoring food
where every syllable of fragrance
would decipher the melodic saga
of delicious Italian cuisine.

Italy- the elegant abode of ardor
symbolizes the food eternity
with its common staple- pasta
in its mesmerizing variations,
for they say, it is a combination
of love and magic.

This magnificence intrigued me
to bring together my family
and foster hearts and smiles
by cooking for them
an Italian cuisine-inspired pasta-
a pure reflection of love and grandeur.

I decided to use the
best quality in pasta-
Del Monte, the provider of
nutritious, healthy and wholesome pasta

inclusive of the true essence
of its taste and feel
from Italy.

del monte penne

My thought of the dish
was to make a rich, creamy and nutritive penne
packed with sage-green spinaci,
creamy cheese and chicken,
flavorful fresh creams,
tangy tomatoes,
olives and peperoncini,
seasoned with herbs- oregano, basil, thyme, rosemary.

And when the idea came alive,
I witnessed the grace of love, the act of affection,
of how every spice amalgamated to deliver
a freshness of love and how their beauty
gave birth to an ecstatic Italian penne sauce
redefining the dimensions of flavors and food.

The pasta dish was a true reflection
of love and encouragement between
two diverse and colorful countries- India and Italy,
as the dish was enveloped in vivid hues of saffron, red, white and green-
an utterly delicious and flavorful promotion
uniting the beauty of my country and a country I adore!

When I served the penne on the table
for the family,
their hearts melted to the savor of the hot and steamy food
and they absorbed themselves in a relishing treat
forgetting about how they should go about,
for ‘Il miglior condimento del cibo è la fame’
as they say, ‘Piatto ricco, mi ci ficco’
for indeed, ‘L’appetito vien mangiando’

The entire imagery was like one big moment
of happiness, laughter, memories and food
where every face was
painted with smiles
and the scent of a food memory.
Indeed, Food is for taste
and happiness is the taste of life.
